Description
This is a bright and beautiful pink & purple garnet solid 22k gold pendant. The upper gemstone is pink garnet which has a high refractive index so it has a lot of flash or internal light. The bottom stone is a royal purple garnet from a relatively new mine in Mozambique. There are a few other finds of purple garnet in the region including mines in Tanzania but they tend to have a slightly reddish undertone. This piece is some of the highest grade purple from the Tetra Mine in Mozambique (which produced the finest of the purple garnet) with deep purple color that is not too dark and has no reddish undertones. I would put this material up against some of the nicest purple sapphire for it color and brightness. The second and third photos in the series were taken outside in natural light and probably best show the actual color of the gemstones although the first photo is pretty good as well. The other photos were taken under studio lighting. Both of these gemstones are completely natural and have not been enhanced or treated in any way.
The gold work is simple yet elegant with a row of gold ball accents across the top. It is a smaller sized pendant that is approximately 3/8” wide and 13/16” tall (without the attachment bale).
Chain and replica coins shown in photos not included with item. To see available chains please see “Chains” on Shop tab.
