Description
This is an incredible Peruvian blue opal and 18k solid gold pendant. The gem material was mined more than 30 years ago from a small short-lived find in the Andean foothills. Most of the material that came out of these mines is opaque and contains inclusions of other minerals making it unusable for high quality fine jewelry. This stone is some of the best Peruvian blue opal with wonderful powder blue color, translucence and no visible inclusions or flaws. And yes, it does look like it’s glowing. See link below for more information on blue opal.
The gold work is simple yet elegant with a single row of twisted gold wire around the bezel. The bale has some extra detail with a double row of gold balls down the front back. It is a small-to-medium-sized pendant that is approximately 1/2” wide and 3/4” tall (not including the bale). See photos with older silver U.S. dime for size/scale comparison.
Chain shown in photos not included with item. To see available chains please see “Chains” on Shop tab.
