Description
This is a gorgeous 3-stone 18k solid gold ring. The design is based on ancient Etruscan ring designs. The Etruscans pre-dated the Romans in what is now southern Italy. I like this design because it has a lot of intricate granulation and twisted wire details. This is a medium-weight ring with just over 8 grams of 18k gold.
The center stone is a beautiful all natural (unheated) ruby from the Winza mine in Tanzania. It has deep red color with just a hint of pink in it which makes it bright even in subdued light. The stone is fairly clear and glassy with only minor inclusions beneath the surface visible with magnification. This is common for natural rubies and sapphires.
The accent stones are purple Umbalite garnet from the Umba Valley in Tanzania. They compliment the red of the ruby quite well.
The ring at its widest point is approx. 9/16” wide (at the front) and the band tapers to approx. 5/16” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
