Description
This is a beautiful wide-band 18k solid gold ring. The design is simple and has its roots in ancient civilizations. I like the texture on the band which is framed by two rows of gold balls around the circumference.
The ruby comes from the Winza mine in Tanzania and is completely natural (unheated). It has saturated red color with a hint of pink and is super bright even in subdued light with excellent clarity. The 2nd and 3rd photos probably best show the color and glassy appearance of this gemstone but it is still more transparent than this. There are one or two minor veils (imperfections) beneath the surface which is common for natural untreated ruby. At 1.9 cts, this is a really large and nice natural ruby.
The ring at its widest point is a little over 7/16” wide (at the front – top to bottom). There is no taper to the band so it is also approx. 7/16” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
