This is a beautiful 18k solid gold ring with a super deep red rubellite tourmaline. The gemstone is from Brazil and is some of the best red tourmaline I’ve seen. It has deep saturated red color but unlike some red tourmaline that is too dark, this piece is open and bright. It is clean and glassy with no significant inclusions or flaws and it is large at 3.85 cts. Like all of our gemstones, this one is completely natural and has not been enhanced or treated in any way.
The design of the ring is based on ancient Etruscan ring designs. The Etruscans pre-dated the Romans in what is now southern Italy. I like this design because it has a lot of intricate granulation especially on the band. This is a medium to heavy weight ring with just over 10.0 grams of 18k gold.
The ring at its widest point is approx. 9/16” wide (at the front – top to bottom) and the band is approx. 3/8” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
