Description
This is a beautiful wide-band 18k solid gold ring. The design is simple and has its roots in ancient civilizations. I like the texture on the band which is framed by two rows of gold balls around the circumference.
The gemstone is a pink tourmaline that comes from the Pala mine north of San Diego in southern California. It has a beautiful pale-pink hue that is sometimes called bubblegum pink. This material is no longer being mined and was purchased from a collector/gemcutter who had been hording it for more than 25 years. It is glassy and bright but has a few minor veils beneath the surface.
The ring at its widest point is a little over 7/16” wide (at the front – measured from top to bottom). There is no taper to the band so it is also approx. 7/16” at the back. (See photo with older U.S. dime for size/scale.)
This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
