Description
This is a beautiful 3-stone 18k solid gold ring. The design is based on ancient Etruscan ring designs. The Etruscans pre-dated the Romans in what is now southern Italy. I like this design because it has a lot of intricate granulation and twisted wire details. This is a medium-weight ring with just short of 8 grams of 18k gold.
The center stone is a pretty all natural (unheated) pink sapphire from the Winza mine in Tanzania. It has a deep pink color that is somewhat reminiscent of pink grapefruit. The stone is has some veils beneath the surface that are visible without aid to vision but it is still a nice gem. This type of imperfection is common for natural sapphires.
The accent stones are dark-purple garnet from India. They are fairly clean and clear and go well with the deep-pink sapphire.
The ring at its widest point is approx. 5/8” wide (at the front) and the band tapers to approx. 5/16” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
