Description
This is a dramatic wide-band 18k solid gold ring. The design is based on an ancient Etruscan style with intricate granulation surrounding the stone setting as well as flat wire framing around the band and a hammered finish in the background. The Etruscans pre-dated the Romans in what is now southern Italy. It is a substantial piece with nearly 9.5 grams of 18k gold.
The center stone is a pink sapphire from the Winza mine in Tanzania and is completely natural (un-heated). It has bright pink color and is fairly clear and glassy although there are a few minor veils (imperfections) beneath the surface. The accent stones are bright orange triangles of Malaya garnet from Africa.
The ring at its widest point is approx. 13/16” wide (at the front – top to bottom) and the band tapers to just over 1/4” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
