Description
This is a really nice pink sapphire and 18k solid gold pendant. Sapphire is the same material as ruby (corundum) but is usually only called ruby when it is a deep dark red. This stone is probably dark enough to be considered a ruby but I have listed it as a pink sapphire because it is slightly less red than the rubies I have used in my work. I have photographed it both indoors in my studio as well as outside under sunlight (first photo) to give you a sense of what it will look like under different lighting.
This material comes from the Winza mine in Tanzania and is completely natural. The stone is fairly clean although it has some minor inclusions. The gemstone has been faceted by hand and has an ancient look to it that is in context with the setting.
The gold work is simple yet pretty with a single row of tiny gold balls around the bezel and the attachment ring. It is a small-sized pendant that is approximately 5/16” wide and 5/8” tall (including the attachment ring).
Chain shown in photos not included with item. To see available chains please see “Chains” on Shop tab.
