Description
This is an incredible 3-stone 18k solid gold ring. The design is based on ancient Etruscan ring designs. The Etruscans pre-dated the Romans in what is now southern Italy. I like this design because it has a lot of intricate granulation and twisted wire details. This is a medium-heavy weight ring with just short of 10.5 grams of 18k gold.
The center stone is a beautiful all natural (unheated) pink-red tourmaline from Brazil. It’s color is somewhat rare in that I find tourmaline typically comes in deep red or distinctly pink hues but not this color. The stone is clear and glassy with only minor imperfections visible only under magnification. The 6th or last photo in the series was taken outdoors under natural light and may give the best representation of the stone’s color.
The accent stones are perfectly matched high-grade amethyst from Rwanda. They are clean and bright and pair well with the pink-red tourmaline.
The ring at its widest point is a little over 5/8” wide (at the front – top to bottom) and the band tapers to approx. 5/16” at the back. This is considered a wide-band ring so you might consider sizing based on rings you wear that are comparable.
