Description
This is a beautiful gem silica and green tourmaline solid 18k gold pendant. The pear shaped gem silica comes from a mine in Mexico that has long since closed. This piece has a wonderful light blue color but it is still really saturated and rich (see link below for more info). The tourmaline is from Afghanistan which is the top source for this kind of super bright yellow-green gemstone with tons of flash.
I cut and paired these gemstones because the colors remind me of the blues of the Caribbean Ocean and the fresh greens of island vegetation. Because of the delicate colors in this piece I photographed it in sunlight as well as subdued light so you could get a sense of what it will look like under different lighting conditions.
The gold work is simple yet elegant with a row of gold ball accents across the top. It is a small-to-mid-sized pendant that is approximately 3/8” wide and just under 1” tall (without the attachment bale). See photos with older silver U.S. dime for size/scale comparison.
Chain shown in photos not included with item. To see available chains please see “Chains” on Shop tab.
