Description
This is a beautiful Carico Lake turquoise and 18k solid gold pendant. Carico is a rare turquoise mined in Nevada that comes in a variety of colors including shades of green that are found nowhere else in the world. This is a really nice piece of green with areas of blue as well with light brown matrix or host rock. It even displays some “water webbing” which is a lighter and darker color pattern. This is some of the best of the green turquoise coming out of this mine and it is cut in a high-domed cabochon that gives the piece a rich look and feel.
The gold work is simple yet elegant with a single row of tiny gold balls around the bezel. I have added a cross bar to the design that is reminiscent of an old sailing ship’s anchor. The bale has some extra detail with a row of gold balls around the circumference. It is a small-to-medium-sized pendant that is approximately 9/16” wide and 1” tall (including the bale). See photo with older U.S. dime for size/scale.
