Description
This is a sterling silver cuff bracelet with solid 18k gold setting and decorative items fused to the cuff. It is a contemporary style bracelet but I’ve incorporated the crossed cannons symbol from the height of the Spanish Empire. This symbol adorned many items but is probably most known for its incorporation into the royal crest which was stamped on coinage from this period.
The gemstone is a beautiful piece of gem silica from the Inspiration mine in Arizona. This material has been mined out for years but bits and pieces become available from time to time out of old collections (see link below for more info on gem silica). I sourced this piece of gem silica years ago. At a recent gem show I saw material like this selling wholesale for $50-$100/ct. If you do the math, this bracelet is an absolute bargain at this price.
The color of the stone is mostly deeper blue but there are some medium blue areas and a little bit of banding. Interestingly, there is what appears to be a small imperfection in the stone along the top edge (or bottom depending upon how you look at it). This is what is called a “vug” which is internal micro-crystalization of the silica. I could have cut this out but I thought it was cool and showed how this material forms or grows so I left a little bit of it. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece, of which you, will be proud to wear and show off to your friends.
The bracelet is approx. 1 ” wide at the front (measured top to bottom) but tapers slightly towards the gap and is approx. 2 mm thick. It is a medium-to-heavy weight piece but would be easy for any woman to wear. Total weight of this item is just over 70 grams including nearly 5 grams of 18k gold and 61 grams of sterling silver.

Size and Other Considerations: This is a 6 1/4 ” cuff including a 1 3/16″ gap or opening (6 1/4″ overall). For most women this would be considered a medium size. Buyers should see Sizing for information on how to measure your wrist for cuff bracelets such as this.
