Description
This is a beautiful Australian opal and 18k solid gold pendant. The opal in this piece is from the Lightning Ridge area in Australia which is known to produce some of the finest opal in the world. It displays a mix of blue, cyan and green and is one of the nicer opals I have worked. It has been cut in a uniform oval high-domed cabochon which gives it a really rich look and feel. There is one small imperfection on the right side of the stone where a bit of the natural matrix or host rock is visible. This is not uncommon for a piece of opal of this size and quality.
The gold work is simple yet elegant with a single row of tiny gold balls around the bezel. The bale has some extra detail with two rows of gold balls running down the front and back. It is a medium-sized pendant that is approximately 3/8” wide and 11/16” tall (not including the attachment bale). See photo with older U.S. dime for size/scale.
Chain shown in photos not included with item. To see available chains please see “Chains” on Shop tab.
